These terms apply to every visitor to laurentandlys.com, every applicant to Lysden, every applicant to The Laurent Room, and every member or client once accepted into either. References to “Laurent & Lys”, “we”, “us”, or “our” mean the Laurent & Lys stewardship operating this website. References to “you” mean the person browsing this site or submitting an application.

Lysden is an open, verified-membership community connecting people who care about eating well and living naturally with the farms and farmers who grow real food with care. Lysden is not a marketplace, and Laurent & Lys does not buy, sell, broker, certify, or take a commission on any produce, goods, or transaction between members. We do not arrange logistics, delivery, or payment between farmers and consumers. Our role is limited to reviewing applications, verifying the people who join, and maintaining the standard of the community — nothing more.

Because Lysden is not a marketplace or a certifying body, any arrangement a farmer and a consumer member choose to make with one another is entirely between them. Laurent & Lys is not a party to that arrangement, does not guarantee its outcome, and accepts no liability arising from it.

The Laurent Room is a private, invitation-only service through which Laurent & Lys designs, builds, and stewards a closed-loop food ecosystem on an estate owned by the client. Access to The Laurent Room is by application and personal review only, is limited to a small number of estates each season, and is not guaranteed to any applicant. Submitting an application does not create any entitlement to be accepted, nor any obligation on Laurent & Lys to accept it.

If your application to The Laurent Room is accepted, the specific scope of work, pricing, timeline, and obligations for your estate will be set out in a separate, individually negotiated written agreement between you and Laurent & Lys. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of this website and the application process itself; they do not, on their own, constitute that agreement.

You must be at least 18 years old, and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, to apply to Lysden or The Laurent Room, or to otherwise transact with us. By submitting an application, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and your own to give.

• Submitting an application through this website is free of charge and does not obligate you to anything.
• Every application — to Lysden or to The Laurent Room — is reviewed personally by our team. We do not use automated systems to accept or reject applicants.
• We may contact you by email or phone to verify details or ask follow-up questions before reaching a decision.
• We reserve the right to decline any application, at our sole discretion, without being obliged to give a reason. This is intended to protect the standard and trust of both Lysden and The Laurent Room, not to treat any applicant unfairly.
• Acceptance into Lysden or The Laurent Room does not transfer, and cannot be sold, gifted, or assigned to another person, without our prior written consent.

If you are accepted as a Lysden member, whether as a farmer/producer or as a consumer/member, you agree to represent yourself and your produce, farm, or intentions honestly, to deal fairly and in good faith with other members, and to uphold the same standard of care — clean, seasonal, unspoiled, and grown without shortcuts — that Lysden exists to protect. Laurent & Lys may suspend or remove any member who misrepresents themselves, acts in bad faith toward another member, or otherwise undermines the trust the community depends on.

All text, images, graphics, logos, and other content on laurentandlys.com — unless otherwise credited — belong to Laurent & Lys or are used under licence, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and share pages of this website for personal, non-commercial purposes, but you may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or otherwise exploit any part of this site's content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

When you submit an application or a message through this website, you grant us permission to use that information solely to review your application, respond to you, and operate our services, as described in our Privacy Policy. You remain responsible for the accuracy of anything you submit to us, and we may rely on it in good faith when making decisions about your application.

This website, and the information on it, is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we take care to keep it accurate and up to date, we make no warranty, express or implied, that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or entirely free of technical faults, and we do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any content on it.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Laurent & Lys shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising out of, or in connection with, your use of this website, your application to Lysden or The Laurent Room, or any arrangement you enter into with another Lysden member. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

You agree to indemnify and hold Laurent & Lys harmless from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of this website, or any information you have provided to us that is false, misleading, or infringes the rights of a third party.

We may suspend or terminate your access to Lysden, your standing as a Laurent Room applicant or client, or your use of this website, at our discretion, if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, acted in bad faith toward Laurent & Lys or another member, or engaged in conduct that puts our community, our estates, or our reputation at risk. Where a client relationship for The Laurent Room has been formalised under a separate written agreement, termination of that relationship will follow the terms of that agreement rather than this section.

This website may contain links to third-party websites, including our social media profiles, for your convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms, or your use of this website, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts having competent authority in India. We encourage you to first raise any concern directly with us, in good faith, so that we can try to resolve it before any formal dispute is pursued.

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time, to reflect changes in our services, our practices, or the law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of this website, or continued participation in Lysden or The Laurent Room, after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
